Poon Hill Trek & Jungle Safari

Combine the best of the Himalayas with the rich nature of Nepal with this amazing package. With mind-blowing views of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, tigers, rhinos and elephants, this may be the holiday you have always wished for.

After 5 days of physical adventure in the Himalayas, you can relax in Nepal's tropical weather on your 3-day jungle safari. The highlights include riding an elephant, close-up views of the one-horned Asian rhinos of Nepal, and if you're lucky you may even see a Royal Bengali Tiger. Later you will descend the great Rapti River in a hand dug-out wooden canoe while in awe of the crocodiles, aquatic wildlife, and birds. Top it all off with a visit to the elephant-breeding and conservation centre and learn about the efforts to stop poaching.

Trekking

The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is very popular due to its low altitude (3200m) and abundant captivating views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. The highlight is an early morning pilgrimage to Poon Hill for a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. The views stretch as far as the eye can see-north towards Tibet, west towards the Dhaulagiri Himal and east towards the Annapurna Himal.

The small mountain villages have friendly inhabitants and provide a wealth of impressive accommodations in their local teahouses. These teahouses also serve food and refreshments to passing trekkers during the day.

Considered to be the best introduction to trekking, this trail offers spectacular views after only two days of trekking. With its diverse terrain and rich local culture, this trek provides a splendid glimpse into the serene and secluded world of the Himalayas. This trek is suitable for most people; it's a great family trek and is highly recommended as a one week getaway.

Jungle Safari

Relax in the tropical warmth of southern Nepal on this 3-day jungle safari in the Royal Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. On the village tour you'll explore the local community and see first hand the agricultural and traditional way of life. You'll ride on an elephant as you traverse through the jungle and you will have first-rate looks at the Asian one-horned rhinoceros. If the stars line up correctly the stealthy Royal Bengali Tiger, which roam in the dense forests of the park, just might appear in your view.

Continuing on foot, you will experience a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, deer, brilliantly colored birds, and other jungle dwellers such as the rhesus monkey and grey langur. In wooden canoes, hand-made from old trees, you'll travel downriver and see many crocodiles on the banks of the Rapti River. On the last morning, you will visit elephant families at the Conservation and Breeding Centre and learn about the history of conservation in this area and the global challenges that are being faced.

"Thorough paperwork helped us prepare. An excellent guide in Kumar, who really couldn't do anymore to keep us safe and well looked after in every aspect. The 3 acclimitisation days will have no doubt made a difference for our success. It would be worth updating the current paperwork to up the recommended daily money allowance. You might also look at whether the trip down could be done over 4 days. Well done team, highly recommended. "

"Experience the Himalayas was an exceptional trip, from start to finish. They are truly caring and supportive. The company went over and above expectations to tailor a trek the perfectly suited my request and needs. They then were meticulous with the advice and help given regarding kit and physical safety. The result was a three week trek, that despite being the hardest physical endurance of my life (with the cumulation of altitude, cold and physical fitness) it was also hands down also the best of my life!! \r\n\r\nI am soo grateful for you knowledge, kindness and friendship. I would recommend this company to everyone and anyone. You are dealing with some serious risks at these altitudes (I spent about ten days trekking over 5000m) and temperatures (I trekked over Christmas and New Year - the coldest but arguably also the clearest, quietest and best time to trek the Everest Region). It is worth setting-up in advance and choosing a company you can trust and rely on. Huge thanks to the whole team including the Manager Bijay, my guide Kumar and Co-owner David!\r\n\r\nI would also recommend doing Everest Base Camp and the 3 high passes in December - to anyone thinking about choosing a 16-20 day trek of a lifetime!"
