Nothing comes close to an epic two-day trek to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m), the highest mountain in North Africa. Your journey begins in the spectacular Azzaden Valley, an area famed for its rugged beauty. From here, you'll head up over the Aguelzim Mountain pass, where you'll be met with stunning views of the Toubkal massif, before spending the night at the base of Mount Toubkal itself.
The next day it's an early start to begin your ascent. The trail crosses a small river and a scree field as it winds its way up the mountain, growing steadily steeper as you approach the plateau. From here, it's just a final short climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal, where your efforts will be amply rewarded with some of the best panoramic views in all of Africa!
The trip finishes in the vibrant city of Marrakech, giving you the chance to explore the medieval-style squares and alleyways of the medina, search for bargains in the mazy souks (bazaars), and enjoy some local delicacies amidst the hustle and bustle of Djemaa el-Fna plaza.
Djemaa el-Fna plaza, a UNESCO-recognised centre of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which each night plays host to a vast cavalcade of traditional performers, from acrobats and snake charmers to storytellers and magicians. The square is a sensory wonderland, with sights, sounds, and smells that will stay with you forever - the perfect place to round off an unforgettable trip!
